Can Identity Management (IdM) act as a proxy for the NIS protocol?

- I need to use IPA as a gateway to NIS user, can IPA do that?
- I need to use Identity Management (IdM) as a gateway to NIS user, can IdM do that?
- I have a NIS setup with server, NIS slaves and NIS clients. Can IdM act as NIS proxy, so fullfill a role similiar to NIS slaves?
