Availability of MegaRAID SAS LSI storage controllers in RHEL 8 and 9

Issue

  • Unable to see the storage controller and/or assigned LUN on LSI MegaRAID 2108 [Liberator], LSI MegaRAID 2008 [Falcon], and other LSI controllers
  • fdisk or lsblk does not show the newly assigned LUN
  • Dell PERC 6/i hardware RAID discs not showing for install

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
  • SCSI controller with LSI MegaRAID chipset (megaraid_sas driver)
