Issue

  • Why does Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0 beta anaconda not have HOME variable set during installation?
  • When installation is going on, one can go to tty2 bty pressing Alt+Ctrl+F2 and while accessing shell for anaconda user, cd command fails with error as follows.
[anaconda root@localhost /]# cd /tmp
[anaconda root@localhost /tmp]# cd
bash: cd: HOME not set
[anaconda root@localhost /tmp]# echo $?
1
[anaconda root@localhost /tmp]#
  • Is HOME variable not set for anaconda user?
