Why does anaconda activate the network device from kickstart network line even without --activate option in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 onwards?
Issue
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6 installation through a kickstart file activates the network device just after reading the kickstart file
network
command without--activate
network --bootproto static --onboot=yes --ip=192.168.122.101 --netmask=255.255.255.0 --gateway=192.168.0.1 --nameserver=192.168.122.1 --hostname=test.example.com
- Till Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2, this was working as expected?
- Why does
anaconda
activate the network device without even mention of--activate
?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3/7.x
- Kickstart installation
