Issue

  • Upgrade of OpenShift from 3.9 to 3.10 fails.

  • Running the Ansible upgrade playbook fails with error.

    ansible-playbook -i </path/to/inventory/file> /usr/share/ansible/openshift-ansible/playbooks/byo/openshift-cluster/upgrades/v3_10/upgrade.yml
Play:     Determine openshift_version to configure on first master
Task:     assert openshift_release in openshift_pkg_version
Message:  openshift_pkg_version must match same major version as openshift_release. You provided: 3.10 and -3.9.31

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 3.9.
  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 3.10.
