qemu crashes with: "qemu-kvm: hw/char/serial.c:232: serial_xmit: Assertion '!(s->lsr & 0x40)' failed." in Red Hat OpenStack Platform

Qemu terminates the execution and the VM is stopped instantly.
The qemu log contains the following error:
