While uploading configuration file to RHN Satellite server using IPA / AD user it fails with "Authentication failed: Invalid username or incorrect password"

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • While uploading configuration file to RHN Satellite server using IPA / AD user it fails with :
# rhncfg-manager add -c config-channel /etc/ntp.conf
Red Hat Network username: my-user
Password:
Authentication failed: Invalid username or incorrect password

But for non-IPA/AD users (Users created on RHN Satellite webui) same command work properly.

Environment

  • Red Hat Network (RHN) Satellite v 5.4
  • IPA/AD authentication configured on RHN Satellite
  • Selinux in Enforcing mode
