Attempting a SCSI rescan with cciss driver results in "write error: invalid argument" on RHEL 5
Issue
- When executing the steps outlined in How do I rescan an HP Smart Array for new disks without rebooting in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4? the following error is displayed:
# echo "rescan" > /proc/driver/cciss/cciss0 -bash: echo: write error: Invalid argument
