Red Hat Satellite client fails with original ruby gem error while running puppet.

Issue

  • After executing puppet agent -tv on the client system puppet fails with the error:

      /usr/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in  gem_original_require': no such file to load -- json (LoadError)
  from /usr/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in `require

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
