Boot ISO network config

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

We need a network to be able to join the server containing the config files of kickstart type and others, using specified interface names associated with predefined MAC addresses on boot.

We tried to force the naming via boot iso in the grub by adding ifname=interface:MAC for the two interfaces in question but without success.

Following is example of our grub configuration:

        echo 'Loading Kernel ...'
        linuxefi /vmlinuz inst.repo=http://xxxxxxxxxxxx:8000/kickstart/RedHat_7.0AS/x86_64/RHEL7-U4/  ifname=eth0:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx ifname=eth1:yy:yy:yy:yy:yy:yy bond=bond0:eth0,eth1:mode=802.3ad,miimon=100,lacp_rate=1 ip=10.xxx.xxx.xxx::10.xxx.xxx.xxx:255.255.255.0::bond0:none nameserver=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx inst.ks=http://xxxxxxxxxxxx:8000/Config/Baremetal/XXXXXXXXX/ks.cfg biosdevname=0 net.ifnames=0 selinux=0 nicdelay=50 linksleep=50 noipv6 inst.text inst.keymap=fr
        echo 'Loading initial Ramdisk ...'
        initrdefi /initrd.img
