Starting virtual machines in the RHEV manager GUI fails

Issue

  • VM's are not able to start. RHEV is reporting the following errors in the event log:

    372485, DATE-TIME, -, xxx, xxx, xxx, VM_DOWN_ERROR, 2, VM xxx is down with error. Exit message: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken..
    372486, DATE-TIME, admin@internal, xxx, xxx, xxx, USER_INITIATED_RUN_VM_FAILED, 1, Failed to run VM xxx on Host xxx.
    372487, DATE-TIME, admin@internal, xxx, xxx, xxx, USER_FAILED_RUN_VM, 2, Failed to run VM xxx (User: admin@internal).
    
  • /var/log/messages contain error message error : virNetSocketReadWire:1808 : End of file while reading data
