blkid does not output swap area

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • When you create a swap area with the mkswap command,
the assigned UUID is written from offset 0x40c.
If the UUID with 0x138f is written at the offset 0x410,
the wipefs command considers it as a minix partition type.
When you run blkid command, the block device is not displayed.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2
  • kernel: 3.10.0-327.62.1.el7.x86_64
  • util-linux-2.23.2-26.el7.x86_64
