Issue

  • Samba Write denied except /tmp on RHEL 5 and 6

nmbd.log:

write_browse_list: Can't open file /var/cache/samba/browse.dat.. Error was Permission denied

smbd.log:

lib/util_sock.c:set_socket_options(237)  Unknown socket option SO_SNDBU

clientname.log

smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum(1003)
`/home/xxxxx` does not exist or permission denied when connecting to [xxxxx] Error was

home dir or a share dir we have created in root partition is inaccessible (no read / no write)
