Issue

  • rhevm-setup is failing with the following error:
[root@RHEVM ~]# rhevm-setup --answer-file="/tmp/answer"
Welcome to RHEV Manager setup utility
The IP 192.168.1.1 does not hold a PTR record for the FQDN: RHEVM.EXAMPLE.COM
Failed handling answer file: Error reading parameter HOST_FQDN from answer file
Please check log file /var/log/rhevm/rhevm-setup_2013_03_26_17_20_16.log for more information

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Virtualization 3.x
  • Upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1 or downgrading from 3.1 to 3.0 due to a failed upgrade
