The network interface was re-activated with different IP address in kickstart file in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 installation
Issue
- I'm using a temporary IP address to be specified in boot parameter for
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
installation. - The temporary IP address is used to get the
kickstart
file. - In the
%pre section
in thekickstart
file, two networkkickstart
commands are generated into a file, and it's included with%include section
into thekickstart
file. The generated network commands has a different permanent IP address. NFS
repository is used in my case, and it's allowed to mount with the temporary IP address, not with the permanent IP address.- Our expectation was that the temporary IP address kept to be used during the installation, and it worked with
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3
. - But in
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.5
, the network interface was re-activated with a different permanent IP address generated in%pre section
of thekickstart
file. And, it caused aNFS
hang problem sinceNFS
mount could not survive the reactivation with different IP. - How to make it keep using the temporary IP address until the completion of the installation in
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.5
?
