Why doesn't NFS resolve domain names when the mount times out?
Issue
- Why doesn't NFS resolve domain names when the mount times out?
- I perform a DNS failover to achieve high avaliability between two NFS servers. Why does the NFS share timeout when the DNS fails over to the second NFS server?
- Why does NFS continue to connect via the IP address instead of the domain name when a domain name is specified as the NFS server in the initial mount command?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- NFS
