A node is getting fenced after LVM resource duplication error is detected in cib configuration

Issue

A node gets fenced after giving the following errors in /var/log/messages file.

ERROR: Duplicate LVM resource controlling vg '<vg-name>' detected in cib configuration.
Mar  7 09:57:32 node1 LVM(resource_name)[7932]: ERROR: LVM:  Improper setup detected
Mar  7 09:57:32 node1 LVM(resource_name)[7932]: ERROR: Duplicate LVM resource controlling vg '<vg-Name>' detected in cib configuration. Can not activate exclusively
Mar  7 09:57:32 node1 crmd[2994]:  notice: Result of probe operation for resource_name on node1: 1 (unknown error)

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 or 7 with the High Availability or Resilient Storage Add On.
