The "Print" button in GTK+ printing dialog is disabled on Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Issue

  • When using the GTK+ Printing dialog (for example in Firefox) to print on a remote CUPS server, the "Print" button is disabled and does not allow for printing although the printers are listed in the dialog.

Environment

  • CUPS print server running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Workstations running GTK+ applications and using the CUPS server as print server.
