OpenShift metrics data is not being purged

Issue

  • Per the documentation for OpenShift, it states that "By default, metrics data is stored for seven days. After seven days, Cassandra begins to purge the oldest metrics data." However, /cassandra_data has become 100% full multiple times on different clusters. It seems the purge is not happening after 7 days.

  • OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 3.6
