How to read openstack logs

Issue

  • After analizing openstack logs , have a question regarding certain fileds and their meaning.
  • The example below is taken from /var/log/neutron/openvswitch-agent.log, but I assume the pattern is the same for all openstack logs.

  • In square brackets we see certain info but there are actually 6 fields, five of them in this case empty, represented by "-".

    2018-01-11 09:32:26.171 708941 INFO neutron.plugins.ml2.drivers.openvswitch.agent.ovs_neutron_agent [req-5f1b939b-7112-41e7-98a9-297ada54c484 - - - - -]
