Issue

  1. swapgen vdisk fails to initialize after installation with the following message "swapon: /dev/dasdX: stat failed: No such file or directory" in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

During/after installation, this swapgen vdisk 300 is added as /dev/dasdf in /etc/fstab


/dev/dasdf swap swap defaults 0 0

After installation, the device is detected as dasdb. Snip from lsdasd

Executing swapon /dev/dasdf results in
