Kernel panic with exception RIP: mem_cgroup_css_offline caused by a possible slab leak
Issue
- A RHEL server has found to be crashed with a kernel panic. The captured vmcore indicates that the crash has occurred in the kernel function "mem_cgroup_css_offline".
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4
- Observed on kernel version 3.10.0-693.5.2.el7.x86_64
- Possibly on latest RHEL 7.3.z kernels
