NFSv4.1: RHEL Clients hang on IO operations
Issue
- NFS clients hang when copying files to NFS shares.
- Trying to read a file on a NFS share with
# catis slow. - Metadata operations like
# lsare not slow. - NFSv4.1 is slower than NFSv4.0
- fs/nfs/pnfs_nfs.c:789 nfs4_pnfs_ds_connect+0x300/0x3c0 is logged in the NFS clients
/var/log/messages.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- NFSv4.1 or later
- NFS server that supports pNFS
