Network interface or other hardware not appearing in RHEL5

Issue

  • We are failing with igb driver which is unable to use multiqueue MSI-X interrupts
  • Mellanox ConnectX cards do not create interfaces, dmesg prints:
mlx4_core 0000:90:00.0: Requested 81 vectors, but only 24 MSI-X vectors available, trying again
Requesting 24 MSIX vectors
pci_enable_msix failed
  • Broadcom bnx2x NICs appear in lspci -nn but not all ethX network interfaces are visible
  • Device probe fails:
bnx2x 0000:02:00.0: msix capability found
bnx2x 0000:02:00.0: setting latency timer to 64
bnx2x 0000:02:00.0: part number 394D4342-31383735-31543030-47303030
bnx2x 0000:02:00.1: msix capability found
bnx2x 0000:02:00.1: setting latency timer to 64
