rpc.mountd with mount request refused

Issue

  • NFS server shows the rpc.mountd refused mount request journalctl output:

    rpc.mountd[1234]: refused mount request from 10.0.0.1 for /export (/export): not exported

  • The following error is seen in the NFS client after attempting to mount the export from the NFS server:

    mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting server.example.com:/export
