Provisioning new RHEL 7.3 with 2GB of RAM or less fails with "IOError: (Errno 28) No Space left on device"

Issue

  • When provisioning a RHEL 7.3 virtual machine with 2GB of RAM or less, the process fails with following error:
"IOError: (Errno 28) No Space left on device"
  • Provisioning of other versions of RHEL works fine
  • Provisioning of RHEL 7.3 with more than 2GB of RAM works fine

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3
  • Foreman server used for provisioning
  • Pulp server used for storing repositories and distributing updates
