On JBoss AMQ 7, is it possible to segregate the topic messages in distinct queues and have different consumers on each queue?

In the using point-to-point and publish-subscribe together configuration of the JBoss AMQ Broker documentation, it's not clear whether this configuration is valid for manually created queues or can be applied for automatically created too.

Using this configuration is it possible to segregate the topic messages in distinct queues and have different consumers on each queue? This way the client subscription could be based on the queue instead of the topic (i.e. address), is this understanding correct?
