Environment

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
AMD EPYC™ family of CPUs

Issue

The AMD EPYC™ CPU in my system is reporting a minimum speed that is lower than the lowest speed advertised in its specification documents.

Resolution

AMD's EPYC™ family of CPUs may report minimum speeds while in operation that are lower than the advertised minimum speeds stated in the CPU specifications. This will not have any negative effects on system operation or on the CPU itself. An updated BIOS with a fix for this issue has been developed by AMD and is being distributed to system vendors. Please contact your system vendor to request the updated BIOS that resolves this issue.
