Issue

  • Mount failed with below error:

    # mount <mount-point>
    mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/mapper/testvg-testlv
    
  • The e2fsck command fails with below error:

    e2fsck: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/mapper/testvg-testlv
    
  • The tune2fs command fails with the following error:

    tune2fs: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/mapper/testvg-testlv
    Could not find a valid superblock for the filesystem.
