Apache httpd is having "(13)Permission denied" error when SELinux is enabled

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We see the error like below in httpd logs, we need to avoid those "permission denied...." but I do not know how, do you have any idea how I allow the communication with the backend servers?

[Sun Jan 01 00:00:00 1900] [error] (13)Permission denied: proxy: HTTP: attempt to connect to 10.0.0.1:8183 (abc.example.com) failed
    [Sun Jan 01 00:00:00 1900] [error] ap_proxy_connect_backend disabling worker for (abc.example.com)

  • How to setup the httpd_can_network_connect value?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Red Hat JBoss Core Services (JBCS)
  • Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux)
  • Apache Web Server (HTTPD)
