Gateway settings in both /etc/networks and the ifcfg files cause packet loss

Issue

  • In RHEL 7 using NetworkManager, having a GATEWAY= defined in both the /etc/networks file and any /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg- file will create duplicate gateway entries, causing packet loss to occur.
