JON showing postgres server as down after importing into inventory

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • postgres server showing as down in JON UI
  • agent.log contains message similar to:
2013-01-10 10:42:19,129 INFO  [ResourceContainer.invoker.daemon-2] (org.rhq.plugins.postgres.PostgresDiscoveryComponent)- Failed to connect to the database: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "postgres"
  • We are using Postgres 9.4 . The Posgres is UP and JON is able to detect the Postgres but shows that it is unavailable.

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.1.1, 3.3.0
  • Postgres database server
