After upgrade from RHEL 7.2 to 7.3, there are huge numbers of DNS errors in squid logs

Issue

  • We have upgraded from version RH 7.2 to 7.3 and consequently from squid 3.3 to 3.5. After that cache.log of is full of the following errors:

    2016/11/17 09:20:36 kid1| comm_udp_sendto: FD 6, (family=10) [::1]:53: (113) No route to host
2016/11/17 09:20:36 kid1| idnsSendQuery: FD 6: sendto: (113) No route to host

    We don't use DNS resolution on our squid servers, so we don't understand why this is happening.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.3
  • Squid 3.5
