When placing RHEV 3.0 Host into maintenance it becomes non-operational

Issue

  • Attempting to do maintenance on a RHEV host and now there are storage problems
  • Put host in maintenance mode to migrate vm's off of it - to change boot lun
  • After quite a while, it came back and said unable to talk to storage
  • One cluster within the data center is down
  • Host that rebooted is non-operational because it cannot talk to storage
  • Data Storage Domain Master is in Unknown state
