Virtual NICs are being reordered and presented to RHEV VMs out of order

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Virtual NICs of a VM are reordered on the RHEVM GUI and the VM is created with wrong network configuration.
  • Creating a new guest from a template results in the new guest's network interfaces possibly appearing in a random order when compared to the template.
  • New guests created from templates end up with their NICs in the wrong Logical Networks.
  • When a VM template is imported to a Data Center, it loses its PCI addresses as defined in the template's OVF file.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.1 and earlier
