Where is information stored about what hardware is detected by Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

The file /etc/sysconfig/hwconf holds this information. Open it in a text editor or with the following command:
# vi /etc/sysconfig/hwconf
The following is an example of the information that can be found in this file:
