Diskless clients booting with bnx2 drivers panics at network initialisation when using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3
Issue
- On RHEL5.3 , using BCM5709S network cards , a diskless server fails and panics while initializing the network services.
- The pxe environment starts , receives a IP address from the DHCP, retrieves the kernel and initrd image from the TFTP server and starts booting. During the network service initialization the kernel panics.
Environment
- RHEL 5.3
- Broadcom 5709S cards using bnx2 drivers.
