GFS2 file system fails to unmount and reports "Unmount seems to be stalled. Dumping lock state..." in RHEL 5

Issue

  • When I shutdown or reboot my node, it hangs on unmounting file systems with the error "Unmount seems to be stalled. Dumping lock state..."
  • The filesystem would not unmount and the following error was emitted to the console:
