What are the options available to pause and resume JMS Queues in JBoss EAP6

Issue

• We want to know about the various commonly used options available in EAP6 which can be used to "pause" and "resume" the JMS Queues.
• We deployed an application that uses a local HornetQ queue (using standalone-full profile), and we are trying to disable the queue without having to restart the server. We tried using the JMX console and removing the queue, but it keeps working as before. Is there any way to do that?
