Cannot start qpidd on multiple cluster nodes due to dirty store

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Using MRG Messaging with a clustered broker configuration, 2 out of 3 brokers had been down for some time and when trying to restart them the following error was observed
qpidd[1004]: 2013-07-04 10:25:52 critical Unexpected error: Cannot recover, no clean store.
qpidd[1002]: 2013-07-04 10:25:52 critical Unexpected error: Daemon startup failed: Cannot recover, no clean store.
  • That is seen despite we are starting first the node that was shut down as the latest one (node1).

Environment

  • Red Hat MRG Messaging 2.1 or newer with a clustered broker configuration
  • 3 node qpid cluster, with 3 brokers running under Red Hat High Availability Cluster
  • cluster-size=2 option set in /etc/qpidd.conf
