Why do filesystem ACL's fail after patching?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Filesystem ACL on the /var/log/httpd directory exists to allow a standard user account from another server to read and copy over the apache access logs for analysis.
  • Every httpd is updated, the ACL fails - It mus be removed and re-add for it to work again.
  • This happens every time the server is patched.
