RHEV: Cannot log into RHEV-M using local authentication with error "Failed to log in to RHEVM service"

Issue

  • RHEV-M is installed using Windows Local Authentication Service and not the Active Directory.
  • The Admin Portal at http://localhost/RhevManager/ opens correctly, but when typing in the login credentials, the browser hangs for several minutes and fails with "Failed to log in to RHEVM service".

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 2.1
  • Using Windows Local Authentication, without Active Directory
