Issue

  • Remote Desktop in KDE (krfb) crashes upon disconnect from remote VNC client.
  • Below error is observed from the krfb server after approximately 20 seconds after remote client disconnects:

The application Desktop Sharing (krfb) crashed and caused the signal 6 (SIGABRT)

  • krfb cannot be started again until the error notice is closed.

Environment

  • Redhat Enterprise Linux 5
  • KDE Desktop
  • VNC using krfb
  • nvidia proprietary driver or any other display that does not support shared memory pixmaps
