Support for nVidia graphics in HP ProLiant WS460c G6 Workstation Blades

Updated -

Issue

HP ProLiant WS460c G6 Workstation blades include nVidia graphics mezzanine cards, some of which can only be used in conjunction with the proprietary nVidia driver and HP's Remote Graphics Software client. It is not possible to use these graphics cards with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux nv display driver as they lack physical display ports and are not connected to the HP iLO management card.

Environment

Any certified version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux running on HP ProLiant WS460c G6 Workstation Blades

Resolution

Customers should contact HP support for assistance with the nVidia driver or the HP Remote Graphics Software client. The nVidia Quadro FX3800, FX4800, and FX5800 expansion cards available for the WS460c G6 Workstation blade do possess physical display-out ports and can be used with the native Red Hat Enterprise Linux nv driver.

Alternatively, the blade's on-board ATI graphics adapter can be used with the native Red Hat Enterprise Linux driver and used either via the iLO remote management facilities or the physical display out port on the blade.
