X11 port forwarding not set up with ssh connection to remote RHEL machine without xauth installed
Issue
- X11 port forwarding does not work
- DISPLAY= variable is not set
- "ssh -v -X ..." returns:
No xauth program; cannot forward with spoofing
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 or 5
- no xorg-x11-xauth package installed on server
