Server gets stuck while booting at the POST stage with error 'Error : Incorrect memory configuration'

Issue

While booting, the server gets stuck and following error messages can be seen :

Error : Incorrect memory configuration.

Ensure memory in slots DIMM_1A and DIMM_1B, DIMM_2A and DIMM_2B, on each memory card match identically in size, speed and rank.
All installed memory cards must have DIMMs.

  • RHEL
  • Observed on Dell machines
