Failure to mount nfs share with sec=krb5 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

Issue

  • A Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 client can mount an nfs share with sec=krb5, but onother Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 client cannot mount it with the same option.
  • Then the following log messages are output in the NFS server.
rpc.svcgssd[2328]: ERROR: prepare_krb5_rfc_cfx_buffer: not implemented
rpc.svcgssd[2328]: ERROR: failed serializing krb5 context for kernel
rpc.svcgssd[2328]: WARNING: handle_nullreq: serialize_context_for_kernel failed

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (nfs client)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (nfs server)
  • Kerberos security (sec=krb5)
