Plain text files won't print, but shell scripts will, in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5

Issue

• Printing works for pdf and image (.png, .jpg) files, but not for .txt or logfile.
• If I try to print a logfile /var/log/xferlog, it cannot print, but after I copy the file to /var/log/xferlog.sh, it prints successfully.
