Issue

  • Following exceptions are thrown in catalina.out if a datasource is defined in tomcat .
        WARNING: Failed to register in JMX: javax.naming.NamingException:
        Could not create resource factory instance [Root exception is java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.BasicDataSourceFactory]

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL )5
    • tomcat5-5.5.23
