What does the SSSD debug messages mean: "Failed to canonicalize name, using [postfix]."

Issue

  • I'm having hard time to understand this error in sssd_domain.log:

    (Thu Apr 28 12:40:01 2016) [sssd[be[example.com]]] [groups_by_user_done] (0x0040): Failed to canonicalize name, using [postfix].

  • Need you help point me to the correct direction.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.2
  • System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) 1.13
